Translation - In a very rare (durmil) case of husband being subjected to mental cruelty/ harassment and driven to commit suicide, the additional sessions judge d.p.vaikar has announced 3 years rigorius imprisonment (3 varsha sakta mazuri) to the wife, her father & her lover. The court has observed that Vikram Narayan Kamble (r/o. Kalas) was driven to commit suicide, by his wife Snehalata alias Pinki Vikram Kamble, father in law Ashok Bhimrao Kamble & her lover Ritesh Gayal (all 3 r/o. Sangamwadi, Khadki) & hence have convicted the three accused. Vikram had taken poison to commit suicide. Police had got a suicide note from Vikram's pocket wherein he has stated that he is taking poison for the harassment meted out by his wife, her father & her lover. This letter had been a prime evidence in convicting the three accused. Handwriting Experts have verified that the handwriting (hastakshar) in the suicide note matches with that of Vikram. Public Prosecutor (Sarkari Vakil) M.D.Pisal has cross-examined 9 witnesses(sakshidaar) in this case. Vikram and Snehalata had married on 19th Feb 2006. After marriage, within 2-3 weeks snehalata came back to Pune from her matirmonial house of Kolhapur. She forced Vikram to get settled down in Pune. Hence Vikram shifted to Kalas. He used to work as a driver (vahan-chalak). Meanwhile he brought the illegitimate affair (anaitik sambandha) of his wife and her lover to the notice (nidarshanas) of his father in law (saasre) ashok kamble. Despite this there was no change in the behaviour(vartan) of his wife snehlata & her lover ritesh. Instead the accused wife lodged a complaint of cruelty (chall) against vikram and his parents in the police. They also filed a suit(khatla) for alimony (potgi). Vikram Kamble could not bear (sahan) this harassment & hence was driven to commit suicide(atma hatya), was the complaint lodged by his brother (bhau) Narayan Kamble
