not really win win situation, but been NRI and living aboard paid 18 lakhs towards quash + divorce
Divorce will take another 3 months
It was costing around 10 to 15k USD divorce in States, so family decided to pay her instead lawyers in States.
All I can advise, if you are US/Canada/UK/Aussie citizen, please take help from Local Police.
out-in laws were demanding 1.5 cr back in April 2013, and I decided to take help from Local police, and they called out-inlaws in India with warning.

UNDER THE CIRCUMSTANCES YOU TOOK A RIGHT DECISION.
But not a good one,She would narrate this ransom recd to many women in India and more women could be seeking settlement amounts from NRI's.
Generally I think NRI's should forget about a Indian bride if it is outside the family or friend's circle in India
