As a new year gift, I have implemented this new "daily digest" feature in forum for everyone.
You will receive daily digest in your email, if you would like. It will prove to be very handy.

Configuring your account to get daily digest into your email (email address in your user profile):
1) on the forum home page, after you login, go to "User Control Pane". It is the link on the top of the page, first link on the 2nd row on the top).
1) Go to your User Control Panel. Select the "Digests tab" on the bottom of the left side navigation panel.
2) For "Type of Digest Wanted" click on "Daily". For "Hour sent" select the hour you would like to receive it based on the "board" time zone.
3) Press Submit.
4) Select the Digest Additional Criteria tab. For "Send a digest if there are no new posts" select Yes.
5)Then press Submit.


You should receive the digest at the email address in your settings, once a day.

i need urgent help.. please advice:

If girls have right to extort money via 498A after marriage.....guys should have the right to demand dowry before marriage. I strongly advise all guys to demand dowry until 498A is abolished. Existence of 498A.....may prompt guys to demanded dowry....to ensure they have enough money from the girls family for 498A settlement...and hence guys do not have to pay anything out of their pocket. I am a victim of 498A and advise all guys to definitely demand dowry. I was against dowry...but existence of 498A made me strongly favor dowry system.

I am a US based NRI....got married on Dec 3, 2007 and I spent three times more than my wife's family spent on wedding, reception and honeymoon. Just a month after my marriage - I realized I was a victim of a fradulent marriage. My wife had major incurable fertility issues by birth and hence she was medically unfit to marry. I spent huge amount of money to cure her...but finally doctors confirmed that my wife's medical problems are very complicated and incurable.

Finally, after consulitng my family and lawyer, I filed for divorce on Jan 8, 2010. Immediately after I told my wife about the fact that I have filed for divorce on the grounds of her impotency and cruel behavior....the first thing came out of her mouth was "498A".

Myself and my family struggled for about 3 months to fight off 498A.... but eventually we were harrassed by the police and women organization to the extent that we had to settle on a negotiated amount. Despite the fact that we had documentary evidence to prove that she married me fradulenty.....still I was forced via 498A to agree to pay her the settlement amount.
I am a victim of 498A and I will not marry until I have plenty of dowry from the girls family.

My parents received some proposal for me after I got divorce from my ex.

99% said "they settled the matter in either women cell or court (got what they demanded($$$))"

One even said they brought boy back from US with the help of police/court and settled the matter on their terms (35 Lacs).

So I guess it's not a bad idea.....

URGENT ACTION IS REQUIRED!!!!!!!! Any possiblities to bring these fuckin women organizations to justice????????? Is there any way....we can secretly video record what goes on at these women organizations with the help of media. I am a US based NRI and going thru a nasty divorce process. My mother had to visit Crime Against Women cell in Kirti Nagar in Delhi for follow up regarding 498A charges...my wife has pressed 498A against every member of my family. My mother told me that CAW officers were teaching/misadvising complainants to call cops for every little thing, my mother over heard one female officer telling to another women complainant to douse herself with kerosene and call the police, or sratch yourself and press charges for kinfe assault...stuff like that. The investigaing officers openly demand bribes...including the ACP. Something should be done to dissolve these women organizations sooner that later.....because they are the ones who are the root cause of the problem. In fact, these women orgainzations not only victimizing the groom...but also the bride....becasue they get bribes from both the parties.

My Brief: False 498a, 406, and 34 in the fir in Feb 2005 NC was made in Nov 2004 upon wife left with his brother along with baggage and 4 month doughter, made by my wife and his brother on my family include sr. ctz. mother father stay with me and sister and sil who reside separate nearby, after calling from gulf by IO to come for a weak and he will resolve the matter of complaint. Passport sized by police on the day of fir and asked me to get ab for myself and family. SHO said we have to take down the complaint no women cell officer attended. And said nothing happens in such case don't worry.

C Petion filed in oct' 2005 and interim order made in 2007 to be paid from the date of application.

Present date is near to hear for final on interim petetion as wife and her lawyer is not coming for settelment as asked by judge to think upon they keeping 300k demand whereas my offer was 150k. By today i had paid arround 135k. I had lost pp and job and not working at present and at attached unemployment certificate notirised and home dept attested in evidence file, judge has instructed verbally to the complainent saying you applied 498a and pp sized whereby lost income.

498A Chargesheet filed some where in 2008 and copy not provided even investigation not conducted at my place. At trail court i get dates once a year to attend and next date is in jan 2011.

Supporting documents: Mahila committee letter describing 498a is not applicable and the wife brother is demanding 500k. Also vilage punchayat of wife where is agreed to join matrimony and fled next day along with his father. Bank stetment of the money she withdrawn while i was abroad and my contract agreement of gulf showing salary of 7500/- equivalent indian rupees.

I say why the judge has order so heavy maintenence only upon the nre a/c. stetement presented by my bil who collected from my bank presenting himself to be me some where in 2004 before 498a complaint.
what will happen now and what should i do?

I am at your forum since last 1 month great people who are also the victims and brave heart fighter with this system. Even i want to be strong like you.

- Never move records from Voice Recorder. If it is full, purchase new one.
- Try go get copies of her qualification, prior experience details. This will be useful if she files for maintenance.
- Always say you are ready to take her back. But she has to behave well in the marriage.
- Keep her greeting cards if she gave you for your birthday/marriage day.
- Do not buy properties on your name.

498a.org is strongly against the dowry system in India. Dowry is a curse and everyone should recognize this fact. 2 Wrongs cannot make right in this scenario.

The forum was upgraded to add new features and so was daily digest feature too, however, the daily digest was not compatible with the newly upgraded forum.
This cause a lot of trouble and I had to spend days to fix this issue.

Anyone who is still not getting the digest should post the details.

This was fixed, so the digest you received today, should not have any issues and you should be able to click on the links that lead you to the actual message on the forum.

HOW ABOUT A RED ROSE DAY "498A" i loved you

we post, spend a few bucks and send roses to all the beautiful 498 indian wifes. what say?

My wife left home on 28th March 2010. I launched GD on 31st March 2010 at a local police station. Then almost nine months elapsed. They did nothing. They launched FIR on 24th December 2010. And also they filed 498a/406 IPC. Police came to our house and seized stridhan without a search warrant and only I was taken custody and i got bail after 3 days. My wife fabricated a nice story for which she didn't have any evidence. Remember when they arrested me my father was ill and four days of my absence shocked him and died 6 days later of my bail. What should be my next step?

I don't think any body is getting digest. Just use your login ID and password and click on "View New Posts" on right corner. You should be able to see latest discussion and threads date wise. No need to pesture Satya for this all the time.
